Senior Software Engineer

Position:  Senior Software Engineer (McLean, Virginia)

Duties: Fix continuous integration builds that break; meet with Senior Software Engineers to learn about our applications in order to be able to implement features safely; implement web service methods; delete old code that is now obsolete; lead a team of developers that is implementing a complex feature; research and design new features in the client facing web application that require broad technical understand of our products and standards; implement bug fixes, add new features in existing applications; implement and run Unit and Integration Tests; write release documentation for features they created; attend regular Agile team meetings; learn MGS applications and coding standards; work directly with other MGS teams to help define requirements for upcoming releases; provide estimates for the requirements as well; mentor Junior Engineers as they come up to speed on Monster technologies; conduct Design and Code reviews and ensure quality of work committed by Junior Engineers; and, design and implement features for our internal dev-ops applications.

Requirements: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field and three (3) years of designing, implementing, and maintaining web applications in a hiring management system using J2EE technologies, including Angular or, alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field and five (5) years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining web applications in a hiring management system using J2EE technologies, including Angular.  Specific skills/other requirements (quantitative experience requirement not applicable to this section): Demonstrated expertise (DE) designing and maintaining SQL based ETL process to perform Data Analytics; DE creating and maintaining environments in AWS; DE using SOAP and REST web services to integrate the MGS system with third-part systems; DE implementing cloud-based micro-service architecture utilizing Docker, Kubernetes and Springboot; and DE communicating with Product and Test teams as part of Agile standup meetings in order to discuss requirements and answer questions.
